The International Dental Program at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) is designed to allow qualified dentists educated in countries outside the U.S. to earn Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degrees in the United States. The D.D.S. degree from a United States dental school is an educational requirement for eligibility to take the dental licensure examination in many states. The program has a minimum length of 27 months, but may be extended, when necessary, to meet the needs of a particular student.

Transcripts that are hand-carried or mailed to Loma Linda University by anyone other than the issuing institution, even if notarized or in a sealed envelope, are not considered official.

Official transcripts/marks are required from all post-secondary institutions from which you have received academic credit, whether or not the work pertains to your Loma Linda University degree.

Transcripts received by LLU become the property of LLU and will not be returned to the applicant or forwarded to any other institution. Please do not send us your original transcript/diploma if no other copy exists.

Please Note: Transcript copies included in official WES evaluation reports will also satisfy the requirement for official transcripts.

Letters of Evaluation Instructions

Program accepts up to three Letters of Recommendation. Program prefers one Letter of Recommendation to come from former teachers or mentors who can attest to applicant’s character, conduct and professional ability.

TOEFL Requirement Instructions

Must demonstrate acceptable English speaking and reading skills. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). To be competitive, a score of 100 or above is highly recommended.

National Board Requirement Instructions

Must pass NBDE Part I and II or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) to be considered for admission.
