Marquette University School of Dentistry offers an Advanced Standing program that admits up to five students each year. This three-year program begins with a foundational year focused on technical and didactic coursework, followed by two years of combined clinical and didactic training. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded the Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree.

Citizenship and Immigration Eligibility

Once admitted, prospective dental students who are not U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents must work with the Office of International Education. All university and legal requirements related to immigration must be completed prior to enrollment.

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions

Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)

A detailed course-by-course evaluation of dental school transcripts, completed by Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), is required. This evaluation should be submitted to CAAPID during the application process. If admitted, applicants must have the official evaluation sent directly from ECE to Marquette University School of Dentistry.

Letters of Evaluation Instructions

Program accepts up to three Letters of Evaluation.

TOEFL Requirement Instructions

The minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 95 on the TOEFL iBT (internet-based test). For tests taken on or after January 21, 2026, the minimum required score is 5.0 on the new TOEFL iBT score scale.

National Board Requirement Instructions

Passage of NBDE Part I or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) is required for consideration. Official NBDE/INBDE scores should be submitted only if requested by the program. If admitted, official scores must be sent directly to the institution.

Other Requirement Instructions

A $45 nonrefundable application processing fee is required and must be paid online by debit card, credit card, or e-check to the Marquette University School of Dentistry. A payment URL will be emailed to applicants after the application has been received.
