The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine Hybrid Dental Hygiene Bachelor's Degree Program track offers students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene in a unique academic environment. Pitt's Hybrid Dental Hygiene Bachelor's Degree Program track, located at the Regional Training Centers - Titusville, leverages Pitt Dental's longstanding Dental Hygiene program, with the benefit of a hybrid education that is based in Titusville, PA. The hybrid program follows the same mission of graduating highly-skilled practitioners who provide the highest-quality, evidence-based patient treatment; provide preventive dental health education; are active in community service, and are committed to lifelong learning and the promotion of dental research to advance the profession. Multidisciplinary educational experiences and a robust curriculum prepare students for careers in private practice, education, business, sales, public health, research, and the public sector. Students gain valuable clinical experience in the dental hygiene clinic, which introduces students to the clinical care of patients. Opportunities to participate in community outreach are provided and encouraged.
Pitt Dental Hygiene subscribes to a rolling admissions policy. The program offers admission to qualified applicants on an ongoing basis until the class is full. One class of 5 students is admitted each academic year in the fall term. It is therefore highly recommended that those seeking admission into the program apply early.
