Our Dental Hygiene Entry Level Laredo program is an extention of our UT Health San Antonio Dental Hygiene Entry Level program. Students applying for the program need to have completed 60 semester credit hours of prerequisite courses. 42 hours of Texas Core Curriculum and 18 hours of program prerequisites courses. Courses at the UT Center at Laredo consist of online classes taught by UT Health San Antonio Dental Hygiene faculty. Dental Hygiene faculty teach at the simulation and radiology labs. Students who see patients are supervised, monitored and evaluated by on-site dental hygiene faculty at each rotation site. Students will be required to attend the first 2 weeks of the Junior Fall semester in person at the San Antonio Campus. Our program prepares students for licensure and entry to the dental hygiene profession through two academic years of upper-level coursework.
Our program, fully accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation, has a philosopy focused on student-centered learning and quality patient care. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take national, regional, and state licensing exams.
