The Yakima Valley College Dental Hygiene Program provides a curriculum which reflects the core values of the profession, instills life-long learning appreciation, and promotes student development as caring, clinically proficient and ethical entry-level dental hygienists. The student centered curriculum prepares graduates for seven professional roles of the Dental Hygienist: Clinician, Corporate, Researcher, Educator, Entrepreneur, Public Health, and Administrator. Small class size and faculty members who are dedicated to student success enhance the educational process. The research curriculum prepares students for graduate programs in dental hygiene and related disciplines.
The program is six quarters in length with a summer break between quarters three and four.
