The Jefferson Abington Dental Residency Program is a comprehensive 1 year experience. The graduate dentist will be trained in all aspects of dentistry and have exposure to all of the various specialties. It is the goal of the program to produce a well-rounded generalist, capable of handling many types of patients, complex treatment plans, and the medically compromised patient. Graduating residents will not only obtain a comprehensive experience, but also understand their individual limits, the specialty referral process, and the importance of teamwork and communication.

There is a comprehensive didactic program, as well as rotations in Anesthesia, Emergency Trauma, Family Medicine, and Oral Pathology. There are weekly patient care conference sessions to review complex treatment planning cases.  Each resident is on call 1 week at a time with an optional on call suite available for resident use.
