Program Contact
The Abington/Jefferson Health Dental Resdiency Program is a comprehensive 1 year experience. The graduate dentist will be trained in all aspects of dentistry and have exposure to all of the various specialties. It is the goal of the program to produce a well-rounded generalist, capable of handling many types of patients, complex treatment plans, and the medically compromised patient. Graduating residents will not only obtain a comprehensive experience, but also understand their individual limits, and understand the specialty referral process, and the importance of teamwork and communication.
There is a comprehensive didacic program, as well as off service rotations to Anesthesia, Emergency Trauma, Medicine, and Oral Pathology. There is a journal club and regular staff meetings. Each resident is on call 1 week at a time, at home.
