Akron Children’s pediatric dental residency program provides advanced didactic and clinical instruction for residents to gain experience and knowledge to comprehensively treat infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. We aim to comprehensively prepare residents to be competent pediatric dentists in the contemporary practice of pediatric dentistry; prepare residents to be competent in communicating and collaborating with other members of the healthcare team; prepare residents to critically evaluate research and provide evidence-based care and prepare residents for their role as advocates for children’s oral health and encouraging community service involvement.
