Letters of Evaluation Instructions
If you are currently attending or have completed a GPR, AEGD, fellowship, associateship or other post-doctoral training program, please include a letter of evaluation from the director of your program. This may be an additional letter on your behalf.
Other Requirement Instructions
As of 7/1/2025, all matriculating residents to Pennsylvania-based dental programs within the Jefferson system, must be eligible to receive an unrestricted Pennsylvania dental license. Possession of this unrestriced Pennsylvania dental license is required before matriculating into the program.
The program begins its course of instruction within the last 2 weeks of June. The earliest your program could start would be June 22. Please keep in contact with our Residency Coordinator for the exact date for this mandatory program start for hospital orientation.
To maintain continuity of resident education and patient care, permission will not be granted for resident time off during the last 2 weeks of June and the first 2 weeks of July of any training year. Additionally, due to the volume and breadth of information provided to the PGY1 residents during the first 8 weeks of the program, time off is not granted.

Additional Information
A passing grade on the NBDE Part I is required for application and Part II for matriculation into the program. If taken, INBDE must be passed for matriculation.

- $95 application fee
All matriculating residents must be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania dental license. This is a requirment for all dental residents in Jefferson programs. This unrestricted Pennsylvania dental license must be in the possession of the matriculating resident by the start of the program.
