Program Contact
Our hospital-based GPR program is focused on resident learning experiences and exceptional patient care. It is a learning environment where textbooks come to life through experiences involving dental emergencies (abscesses, post extraction bleeding, and dental trauma), medically complex dental patients (head and neck cancer, liver or kidney transplant, cardiac valve replacement, bone marrow transplant, and HIV), oral pathology/oral medicine (diagnosis and management of lesions and conditions), operating room dentistry, and inpatient care. Rotations include anesthesiology, head and neck cancer surgery, internal medicine, oral surgery, mobile dentistry, and elective.
Generally, residents that complete the program have an increased knowledge relating to medically complex patients and confidence to complete difficult procedures with ease (alveoplasty, surgical extractions, periodontal procedures, biopsy, molar endo, pedodontic procedures, denture fabrication, etc.).
