CSC Health Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program
The mission of CSC Health's Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program is to prepare competent, compassionate, and confident general dentists through comprehensive clinical training in a community health center setting. Residents develop advanced clinical skills while providing high-quality oral health care to diverse and underserved populations under the guidance of experienced faculty.
CSC Health is committed to excellence in dental education and to preparing oral health professionals who will serve communities with limited access to care. The residency program begins on July 1, 2027, and concludes on June 30, 2028.
Program Overview
CSC Health's AEGD Residency Program is a postgraduate training program that participates in ADEA PASS and follows a non-Match admissions process.
Comprehensive Clinical Training
Residents receive advanced training in comprehensive patient care, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based clinical decision-making within a community health center environment. Emphasis is placed on providing patient-centered care while managing a broad range of dental conditions.
Community Health Experience
Residents provide care to diverse, underserved, and medically complex patient populations. This experience enhances residents' ability to manage patients with varying medical, social, and cultural needs while developing skills in comprehensive treatment planning and interdisciplinary care.
Site-Based Training
Residents are assigned to CSC Health's Alhambra Main Street clinic in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, serving a diverse and medically complex patient population while providing continuity of care from diagnosis through completion of treatment.
Small Cohort and Individualized Mentorship
The program accepts four residents per year, fostering a collaborative learning environment with individualized guidance, close faculty interaction, and personalized feedback.
Faculty Mentorship
Residents work closely with experienced faculty members who provide direct supervision, clinical instruction, and mentorship. Faculty are committed to supporting residents' development in comprehensive patient care, clinical decision-making, professionalism, and lifelong learning.
Advanced Clinical Procedures
Residents gain experience with advanced clinical procedures and technologies, including:
• Digital impressions and digital dentistry workflows
• Implant placement and implant restorations
• Clear aligner therapy (Invisalign)
Didactic Education
Approximately 15% of the program is dedicated to didactic instruction through lectures, case presentations, seminars, and small-group learning activities that support clinical excellence and lifelong learning.
