The CDI Columbus AEGD is an accredited program in Mount Carmel East hospital, offering hospital-based clinical and didactic experience in all dentistry areas. Residents are supervised and mentored by skilled attending dental staff in different specialties. Residents will be trained in all aspects of modern dental procedures, using state of the art equipment and techniques including digital scanning systems, clinical microscope, and 3D imaging.

Provide the requirements for Certification in IV Sedation set by Ohio State Dental Board. Our program is multi-disciplinary, Residents will have the chance to perform procedures in all dentistry disciplines, and interact with the hospital medical departments, while providing dental care to medically challenging cases. Our focus is on excellence in dental care and service.

The didactic portion of the program will be at a more advanced level than the pre-doctoral curriculum. Subjects covered through the journal club that gathers all the CDI residents in all programs, will include implant dentistry, radiology, oral surgery, pathology, temporo-mandibular disorders, I.V. Sedation, and many other areas of dentistry. Practice management, and business tools that the resident will need to begin their careers are explored in detail.

The program is two years mandatory, which will differ in both curriculum and requirements. Whereas the first year emphasizes the introduction of the student to comprehensive care, treatment planning, and quality care in a closely supervised setting, the second year will allow the opportunity to get a teaching experience, explore more advanced procedures and complex cases, again, under close supervision. A certificate of completion will be granted following the successful completion of the 2nd year.
