Welcome to Danbury Hospital’s General Practice Residency in Dentistry program. This one-year program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirement.” The program awards a certificate upon completion. Currently, the program accepts five residents per year.
The clinical and didactic component of the program is located at the Greater Danbury Community Health Center in downtown Danbury, Connecticut. Residents have extensive opportunity to provide comprehensive dental services to a broad spectrum of the population, including the intellectually, emotionally and physically challenged and the elderly. The variety of dental cases treated include preventive services, emergency service, oral surgery, routine operative, implant placement and restoration, endodontic, periodontic, pediatric, limited orthodontics and operating room dentistry and services for those with disabilities. Endodontic microscope, Cerec scanner, milling and oven, 3 D printer, soft tissue laser, as well as CBCT available on-site. Rotations in Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine are completed at Danbury Hospital, one mile away from theCommunity Health Center. The rotation in Medicine is completed at the Center.
