CTOR Academy's Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics offers an integrated didactic, pre-clinic laboratory, clinical and research curriculum that provides our graduates with the skills needed to excel not only in private practice, but also in non-traditional careers such as academia, industry, or leadership.
During Orientation, students master preclinical skills through hands-on exercises, lectures, literature review, and case presentations.
In the Fall of Year 1, students start treating children, teens and adults who present with a range of malocclusions. Diagnosis, treatment planning and mechanotherapy skills are reinforced with an extensive case presentation series and didactic classes.
Students are assigned to a full-time faculty research mentor. Their project is based on the faculty member’s research program and the student’s previous research experience and interest.
CTOR Academy offers interested candidates 2 Combined Orthodontics Certificate/Graduate Degree programs through our affiliation with Stevens Institute of Technology (www.stevens.com):
- Certificate + MS in Bioengineering – 3-years
- Certificate + PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Biomedical Sciences – 5-years
Students interested in either of these combined programs must apply to, and be accepted into, both CTOR Academy and Stevens Institute of Technology.
