Jacobi Medical Center, in affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, offers a 36-month advanced education program in Dental Anesthesiology. This fully integrated clinical and didactic curriculum is designed to meet the educational requirements for certification by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), and graduates are eligible to pursue board certification upon completion.

  • Passing the INBDE before matriculation into the advanced dental education program

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions

Letters of Evaluation Instructions

Letters of Evaluation (Maximum: 5)

Required:

  • Institutional Evaluation Form (Dean’s Letter) – For current dental students, this letter must confirm that the applicant is in good academic and professional standing and is expected to graduate on time.

  • Clinical group leader or primary clinical supervisor

  • Program Director letter – Required for applicants who are currently enrolled in, or who have previously completed, a residency or other advanced training program. For applicants currently in training, the letter must confirm that the applicant is in good standing.

Additional letters (as applicable):
Remaining letters should be from individuals who know you well and have directly supervised your work, such as:

  • a research, leadership, or clinical mentor

  • a dentist anesthesiologist with whom you have had sustained interaction

Important:
Superficial shadowing letters are strongly discouraged and are not considered competitive.

Other Requirement Instructions

The CBSE is required. Official score reports should be sent via ASDA and/or uploaded through PASS. (If there are any issues, please contact Dr Saraghi saraghim1@nychhc.org) 

 

A fourth year dental student in good standing may apply to the program even if they have not taken the INDBE prior to the application deadline. The applicant, if matched, will be expected to pass the INDBE prior to starting residency.

Interview Schedule

Tentative schedule:

  • Information Session: Sunday, October 18 at 8:00 PM (Eastern Time). Participation is limited to invited candidates. This session will not be recorded.

  • Interviews: Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20. Invited candidates will select a time on one of the two interview dates.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) with photograph
A 2 × 2–inch digital photograph must be embedded in the upper right or upper left corner of the CV. The CV and photograph must be uploaded as a single PDF document.

CBSE score report
Up to 5 score reports can be uploaded through PASS. 

Official transcripts and NBDE results
Must be submitted through PASS.

Applicants who successfully match and accept a position in the program will be required to provide official hard-copy documentation at that time.
