Program Contact
The Jersey City Medical Center's GPR program is a one year, full time program. The program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association and is based at the number one rated hospital in New Jersey (under 300 beds) for 2 consecutive years.
The well-structured and balanced curriculum exposes the residents to all of the major disciplines of dentistry. This includes rotations in Oral Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology. It also includes experience in Implantology, pain and anxiety control, comprehensive care, treatment of medically compromised patients and patients with physical and/or mental disabilities, medical risk assessment, hospital organization and function, hospital admissions, and OR admissions requiring dental and/or surgical treatment.
The program is an intense and challenging year. However, successful completion will enable the graduate to enter private practice or a specialty program with an overwhelming self-confidence and a broad base of knowledge and experience.
