The General Practice Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a one-year, hospital-based program under the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry within the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
The program is designed to offer residents an opportunity to expand their dental education and enhance their clinical expertise. It delivers comprehensive post-graduate training focused on the care of medically complex and diverse patient populations, encompassing a wide range of oral health conditions. Residents gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, managing patients from the local community as well as individuals with head and neck cancer, significant medical comorbidities, dental trauma, and those requiring medical or oncologic clearance. Instruction is provided by a multidisciplinary team of faculty representing specialties such as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and General Dentistry.
