Our program only accepts graduates from US and Canadian CODA accredited schools.
The Johnston Memorial Hospital AEGD program in Bessemer, AL, provides an intensive, high-quality education in general dentistry. Our graduates are leaders in their communities both in technical abilities and their willingness to serve patients. We are located in a safety-net clinic outside of Birmingham, AL.
While it is unfortunate that so many patients in our community need low-cost dental services, our AEGD residents benefit from a large patient base and high demand for dental services. This creates a rewarding experience for both patients and residents. Our comprehensive care model includes most aspects of general dentistry, with a surgical focus on exodontia and implant dentistry, and a restorative focus on dental implants. We also provide IV sedation training, which is somewhat unique among AEGD programs. Residents should anticipate a mix of comprehensive dental care patients and limited care "emergency" or episodic patients.
Our clinic is well-equipped with 14 chairs, digital x-rays, intra-oral scanners, digital laboratory and printers, and a CBCT 3-D scanner.
Visit Foundry Residency Program Website for more information on the program and Foundry Dental Center experience.
