NDR's first class started in July 2006. Our sponsoring organization is the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, which is a large FQHC system located in central and Eastern WA. We expect to host 8 residents in 2026-27 academic year which runs July through June. Residents are hosted in separate active public health clinics in Yakima, Toppenish, Grandview, Spokane, and possibly 1 or 2 other clinics around the central WA valley. Each resident is assigned to one clinic as a home base, but then also occasionally travels to other sites for some didactic & specialist sessions (travel expenses are reimbursed by the Program).  We offer an annual stipend of $56,000 and do not charge the resident any tuition or fees. We provide significant training in all aspects of general dentistry, from various didactic studies, to hands on in restorative, surgery, endo, prosth, perio, and pediatric dentistry including nitrous oxide with modern technology that includes dental microscopes and 3D scanners. Each resident will have a one-on-one relationship with an experienced mentor during the year to help them treat everything from simple to complex patients chairside when needed. Our patient population is primarily low-income and underserved with tremendous dental needs, and we are unique in the ability to offer each resident the opportunity to choose up to 4 "Pro Bono" cases. If approved, these cases will allow complex work to be done by the resident free of charge to the patient.  This way the patient receives the care they truly need, which they may not be able to afford, and the resident gains the experience with complex care that serves our population well. We do implant training, but cannot guarantee live implant placement for every resident. For more detailed information you can also view our web site
