Program Contact
NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn (formally known as Lutheran Medical Ceneter) is located in southwest Brooklyn and cares for the underserved communities of that area. We are based in the Sunset Park Community Health Center, where we see our patients. Our clinic is shared with a GPR program, as well as a pediatric dental residency, dental anesthesiology program, and an AEGD program. This allows for excellent interchange with fellow residents in their respective disciplines.
First year residents participate in a core curriculum that is shared with all other dental residents. This is done both synchronously and asynchronously. In addition to the core curriculum, there is the endodontic didactic curriculum in which they also participate. The endodontic literature reviews, text book reviews, case presentations and guest lectures are done via video conferencing with our residents in Puerto Rico.
NYU Langone's endodontic program has a very strong clinical component to the program. Our residents are expected to complete 250-300 cases in addition to 25-35 surgical cases. We utilize operating microscopes, CBCT, ultrasonics, a variety of rotary instruments and various techniques in our everyday practice. Residents have an opporturnity to work with attendings that all have private practices and many years of outstanding experience. In addition, the residents have the opportunity to visit the private practices of the attendings to see what real life endodontic practices are all about.
