NYU Langone (formally Lutheran Medical Center) endodontic residency program maintains two sites.  The original site in Brooklyn and this site in Puerto Rico.  The residents are based at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine.  The program expanded to Puerto Rico in 2009 and graduated its first class in 2011.

The residents in Puerto Rico are expected to complete the same didactic curriculum as the residents in Brooklyn.  The programs core curriculum for all first year residents is mostly web based.  The endodontic curriculum is done via video conferencing.  In addition to these lectures, endodontic residents take certain graduate lectures with the other post graduate students from the other disciplines.

All clinical work is done at the School of Dental Medicine at the UPR.  Each resident has his/her own microscope and all other equipment is provided by the program to each resident.  Endodontic faculty from the UPR oversee all clinical work and attendings from Brooklyn's main site pay frequent visits to Puerto Rico to work with the residents.

All residents attending the program in Puerto Rico must be bilingual.
