The residency program in Pediatric Dentistry fulfills the requirements for advanced education in Pediatric Dentistry as approved by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation. Upon successful completion of the program, the resident is awarded a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and meets the advanced education eligibility requirements of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The clinical program offers intensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry divided between the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Through the facilities and programs of both institutions, diversified educational experiences are afforded with emphasis in providing comprehensive oral health care for pediatric, adolescent, medically compromised and developmentally disabled patients. A multidisciplinary approach integrates the educational, research and service components of this specialty program.
