The Spartanburg Medical Center AEGD program is a 12-month community-based program providing resident education in a multidisciplinary general dentistry environment that enhances and refines what you learned in dental school. This program provides practical experiences serving underserved communities with an emphasis on professional ethics and community care. It is located in charming Spartanburg, SC.

Spartanburg Community Dental Center (SCDC) was established to help address the unmet oral health needs of adults in Spartanburg and surrounding areas. We partner with several local drug recovery programs, a cancer center, a low-income access health center and others. While unfortunate, our patients have complex needs which provide residents a wide range of complex clinical procedures and treatment planning opportunities. This coupled with strong faculty mentors made up of experienced private practitioners; including specialists experienced in IV Sedation, Implantology, Endodontics, and Periodontics who are committed to training our residents at the highest level.
Residents should anticipate a mix of comprehensive dental care patients and limited care "emergency" or episodic patients. Emphasizing quality care, our residents in Spartanburg gain proficiency in all areas of general dentistry, as well as excellent training in preparing and delivering complex and comprehensive treatment plans.
