The Orthodontic Program was established in 2001 and became fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation in 2005. Most recent re-accreditation was confirmed in 2018. This certificate program offers four positions each year and extends over a period of thirty-six months. The focus of the hospital-based program is to educate and prepare well-rounded and highly proficient clinical orthodontists. The program prepares residents for the American Board of Orthodontics examinations and encourages Board certification.

All residents are paid according to their Post-Graduate Year level with no tuition or fees.

PGY-1: $76 343  PGY-2: $80 757  PGY-3: $86 055  PGY-4: $90 470  PGY-5: $95 503  PGY-6: $102 828

All applicants must meet the educational requirements, which include a DDS or DMD from an accredited US or Canadian institution.  Applicants must also have experience in a 1-year General Practice Residency, or two or more years of full-time private practice experience.  The two years of full-time practice must be completed prior to entry into the orthodontic residency program.
