The 36-month program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Touro College of Dental Medicine offers a robust curriculum in a state-of-the-art digital facility. The extensive experience in patient care, along with evidence-based didactic courses, is designed to prepare the student to treat a broad scope of orthodontic problems, and to fulfill the requirements for certification by the American Board of Orthodontics.

The Instructional model includes critical evaluation of patient diagnosis and treatment plans prior, during and upon completion of care. Exchange of ideas will be encouraged, particularly as they apply to different possible treatment plan options. Staging of treatment is emphasized. Students will be exposed to a broad variety of techniques, including variations of traditional braces, aligners, and newer 3D modalities.

Multidisciplinary interactions will be integral to the training program, including orthognathic surgery, pediatrics, periodontics, prosthetics, TMJ, craniofacial anomalies, speech and language pathology and sleep apnea. It is our goal to train orthodontists who are comfortable in a team approach to patient care.
