The Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine was founded in 1991.  It is designed to reflect as closely as possible a private general practice setting while still functioning harmoniously within a dental school environment.

The one-year residency program provides advanced training beyond the level of predoctoral education; it is carefully planned and sequenced.  It is a one-year, 12-month program.  An optional second year is available to participants in the traditional one-year residency program.  More information about training options in AEGD can be found on the program's dedicated admissions page.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Candidates with dental training outside the US or Canada are not eligible for the one-year residency program.  Instead, they may be eligible for our two-year International Scholars Program.  Eligible candidates must apply via the UB Application rather than PASS.  Please visit the program page referenced above for more details.
