Program Contact
Our program is a well balanced hospital based dental program. We operate a very busy clinic that has over 23,000 patient visits in a normal year. We see patients from 4 years old to 100+. About 60% of our patients are Medicaid recipients with most of the remaining patients a mixture of traditional dental insured and dental managed care plans (other than Medicaid). Residents gain experience in all phases of dentistry except orthodontics. We have consultants in endodontics, pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics. Our strongest ares are oral surgery and endodontics, followed by implants and prosthetics. Our weakest is periodontics. Residents place an average of 6-10 implants during the year and provide dental treatment in the operating room to 6 or more patients during the year. We provide instruction and experience in Moderate Sedation. This will qualify residents to apply for certification in Missouri and some other states. Each resident can select a "teaching case" that allows the patient significant discounts. This gives the resident the opportunity to experience a complex treatment plan. Due to the large amount of patient visits we can allow a resident to concentrate on certain dental specialty procedures if desired.
