The UAB Endodontics Residency Program has two different tracks:
- Endodontics Certificate Track - 24 months
- Endodontics Certificate + Master of Science degree - 27 months, up to 2 candidates will be accepted

Application Requirements
Required Standardized Tests

- Passing the INBDE before matriculation into the advanced dental education program
- INBDE scores can be added to the ADEA PASS application at a later date (after interviews). Our intent is not to require INBDE results early before you take the exam, however INBDE results need to be added as soon as they are available.

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions
Unofficial transcripts are required to be uploaded into the ADEA Pass application. Unofficial transcripts that are not in English need to be accompanied with an acceptable translation.
Official transcripts will be required later for those who are selected for residency and an email request will be sent to those who will need to send official transcripts. These selected candidates will need to send a certified copy of their dental school transcripts from the institutions they attended to the UAB School of Dentistry Post Graduate Admission Office and a certified copy of their graduate transcripts from the institutions they attended to the UAB Department of Endodontics. Original transcripts that are not in English need to be accompanied with an acceptable translation.
Letters of Evaluation Instructions
Letters of Evaluation are required to be uploaded into the ADEA Pass Application.
TOEFL Requirement Instructions
For applicants that graduated from a non-US University:
Thank you for your interest in the UAB Endodontic Residency Program! It is essential for our operations that our residents speak English fluently. If you have other advanced degrees from the US or another English-speaking country then TOEFL is not needed, otherwise the TOEFL is required. This applies to U.S. Citizens that attended Non-US Universities as well.
Other Requirement Instructions
A DMD/DDS degree or equivalent is a requirement. It is preferred but not required that candidates have a dental degree from a CODA-accredited Dental School and are eligible for licensure in the US.
In the ADEA Application, please provide a typed Personal Statement, evidence of previous advanced degrees, leadership experience, research (including citations of manuscripts, abstracts, grants, theses or other scholarly activities), organized dentistry activities or community endeavors.
ADAT scores are required for applications.
ADAT and INBDE/NBDE 1-2 scores will be considered when decisions for acceptance are made.
Private practice experience and/or an AEGD/GPR residency is/are preferred.

This program will consider applicants who graduated, or plan to graduate, from a non-CODA accredited dental school: Yes
Applicants are eligible to enroll if they are:
- US Citizen
- US Permanent Resident
- Canadian Citizen
- Canadian Permanent Resident
- Non-US Citizen/Resident (applicant must obtain their own sponsorship)
Interview Schedule
After the applications are reviewed, selected applicants will be invited to interview via email, in the email they will be notified of the interview schedule.

Program Length: 24 months for the endodontics certificate program, or 27 months for the endodontics certificate with master's degree
For the Master's Degree Program, you must be accepted to the UAB Graduate School and the Endodontic Residency. Application to the Graduate School is initiated after being accepted into the Certificate program.
