UCSF Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program (5 positions selected via MATCH process)

The UCSF Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program offers a 3-year program with unique training options to help residents pursue their own passions and interests. These include community and public health, education and leadership, and clinical and translational science. All share a common core curriculum of general and advanced care in pediatric dentistry at multiple training sites. These sites include world-class training centers including UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals (Oakland and San Francisco), outpatient clinics in the School of Dentistry (San Francisco Parnassus campus) and the Gateway Medical building (San Francisco Mission Bay campus), as well as training partnership with a number of Federally Qualified Health Centers (Oakland and Petaluma). Each site represents a unique healthcare delivery system, patient population, and educational opportunities. Education and training options include co-enrollment in a MS program in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at UCSF.

The program seeks to develop future leaders in pediatric dentistry, with careers combining clinical practice, dental public health service, and clinical and translational research. Our residents have a wealth of experience in treating pediatric dental trauma in the emergency department, children with special health care needs, oral conscious sedation, hospital dentistry, and interceptive orthodontics. A comprehensive and holistic treatment approach, with an emphasis on research and innovation, is emphasized throughout the program.

This program fully satisfies the educational requirements of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
