The Endodontics program at UCSF is a full-time program beginning July 1st of each year.
The program is fully accredited and meets the educational requirements of the American Dental Association (ADA). Graduates of the program are educationally qualified for board certification by the American Board of Endodontics.
Instruction is presented through lectures, seminars, demonstrations and conferences and is supplemented and emphasized by clinical treatment of patients.
Three candidates are accepted annually into the program. A certificate in Endodontics is awarded upon completion of the 24 month program.
Applicants must hold a DDS or DMD degree issued by a dental school accredited by the U.S. ADA’s Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) by the start of the program.
The Division of Endodontics affords dental graduates interested in endodontic postgraduate advanced dental education in an outstanding environment in which to pursue their education.

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions
Please upload all higher education transcripts to ADEA PASS. If selected for the program, you will be asked to have the institutions send official transcripts to UCSF School of Dentistry.
If you have international coursework:
You must submit to ADEA PASS a course-by-course evaluation of all international transcripts by either Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., or World Education Services AND upload an unofficial copy of the international transcript directly to ADEA PASS.
If a WES ICAP report is submitted to PASS this will fulfill the requirement for the evaluation and transcript.
Letters of Evaluation Instructions
Please have your evaluators upload their letters directly to ADEA PASS. Three letters of evaluation are required along with an Institutional Evaluation Form.

INBDE: Applicants that have completed dental school must Pass NBDE Parts 1&2 OR INBDE by application deadline. An applicant in dental school must pass the INBDE by the application deadline.

Interview Schedule
The ADEA PASS Deadline is July 1; however, completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis & interviews will occur in July. We encourage that you submit your application before June 15 for priority consideration. Interviews during the 2025-26 admissions season will be conducted in person. Invitations will be sent directly by the residency program.
