The Department of General Dentistry offers a full-time one-year Digital Dentistry Fellowship. This is an intensive full-time, one-year, non-degree program that offers interested dentists the chance to enhance their didactic knowledge, hands-on, and clinical skills utilizing already established and emerging digital technologies.
The didactic component of this fellowship includes lectures focused on digital technologies and their incorporation into day-to-day clinical practice and seminars.
The clinical component of this fellowship includes clinical experience with integration of digital technology. The selected fellows will be working closely throughout their fellowship with faculty and residents of the General Dentistry department.
Scholarly participation is required during this one-year fellowship.
After successful completion of this one-year program, fellows will receive a certificate confirming completion of an advanced one-year fellowship in Digital Dentistry.
This certificate does not serve as a specialty degree. This certificate is different from the postgraduate program certificate given to full-time residents in advanced general dentistry training. The Digital Dentistry Fellowship program is not CODA-Accredited.
The program includes:
- Lectures and seminars related to digital dentistry
- Clinical exposure with the use of digital tools
- Digital lab experience
- Scholarly involvement
The goals of the program include, but are not limited to:
- Provide fellows digital dentistry foundational concepts such as intraoral scanning, computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (3D printing, milling).
- Be exposed to different digital dentistry tools and equipment.
- Comprehend the benefits and limitations of the use of digital technologies.
- Obtain hands-on training with digital tools.
- Obtain clinical exposure utilizing digital technology.

The program has two available positions per year.
The program start date is June 26th.
Tuition& Fees:
Digital Dentistry Fellowship Tuition: $40,000.00
A non-refundable deposit of $ 5,000.00 is required payable within 20 days of acceptance into the program. The fellow will be responsible for all incidental fees and living expenses above and beyond the fellowship fees. No funds, scholarships, loans or grants are available for the fellowship program at this time.

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions
Eligibility Requirements:
The applicants must have a dental school diploma (D.D.S / D.M.D. or its equivalent)
For International Applicants:
- This program will consider applicants who graduated, or on track to graduate, from a non-CODA accredited dental school.
- Transcripts from dental school must have course-by-course evaluation from WES, only.
- We do not accept ECE for any reason, no exceptions.

TOEFL Requirement Instructions
An official TOEFL score (taken within the last two years) must be submitted. TOEFL is required for those applicants who obtained their dental degree from a Non-US/Canada/Ireland/UK/Australia Dental School. Minimum TOEFL score is 90 or 4.5 (new scale). We do NOT consider the "my best score." We only consider the actual test score.

This program will consider applicants who graduated, or plan to graduate, from a non-CODA accredited dental school: Yes
Applicants are eligible to enroll if they are:
- US Citizen
- US Permanent Resident
- Canadian Citizen
- Non-US Citizen/Resident (program offers sponsorship)
Additional Information
For all applicants:
- IEF may be substituted with a recommendation letter from the Dean of the school THROUGH PASS (do not email or add to CV, it must come directly from the Dean), but must include: Class Rank, GPA, and standing (history of disciplinary action).
For international applicants:
- We only offer J1 Visa sponsorships to those who are eligible (Canadian CODA-accredited grads can opt for a TN).
- You must submit a certified English translation of your Dental Degree through PASS if you graduated from a Non-CODA dental school. Please DO NOT mail or email these supplemental documents; PLEASE ADD THEM to your CV and upload them through your CV.
- An official TOEFL score must be submitted to PASS. UConn Digital Dentistry Fellowship Program minimum TOEFL score is 90 or 4.5 (new scale). We do NOT consider the "my best score". We only consider the actual test score.
*Obtaining a badge from UConn Health is mandatory and required in order to be enrolled. This process includes a full background check.
Badges are subject to approval from UConn Police and the Risk Management Office.
