Program Contact
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Advanced Education Program at the University of Louisville offers a residency program beginning July 1 and extending through 72 calendar months. This six-year program, offered in conjunction with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, combines a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery with a medical degree and the postgraduate medical training needed for medical licensure.
Two residents are selected each year. Stipends are awarded, based on PGY Level.

Required Standardized Tests

- Passing the INBDE before matriculation into the advanced dental education program
Transcript Evaluation and Instructions
Unoffficial transcripts may be submitted through PASS, however official transcripts are required before the program start date.
Letters of Evaluation Instructions
Three letters of recommendation are required.
NOTE: Only documents submitted via the PASS site will be reviewed. Do NOT submit letters of evaluation or scores directly to the program.
TOEFL Requirement Instructions
Only graduates of US CODA-accredited dental schools are eligible to apply to this program.
U.S. Permanent residents are eligible to apply. Official TOEFL scores will be required prior to full admission.
Other Requirement Instructions
Applicants must submit all NBDE and/or INBDE scores available at time of application to PASS. In addition, the following must be submitted to the program prior to full admission:
- Official Part I, Part II or INBDE scores
- Official Dental School transcript with degree awarded
- Copy of Dental School diploma
No supplemental fees are required.

A color photo is not necessary for the application, however it will be required if granted an interview.

Our program does not offer non-categorical internships.
Our program accepts predoctoral students as externs for one to two weeks of voluntary, full-time, primarily observational experiences without formal educational objectives or affiliation.
