The primary objective of the program, through an organized, advanced, and comprehensive curriculum, is to prepare dentists for contemporary specialty practice in Prosthodontics. The program is designed to produce clinicians who are proficient in the full scope of procedures characteristic of the discipline, with a strong emphasis on digital technologies that are shaping the future of prosthodontic care. Residents receive extensive training in digital workflows and advanced digital fabrication methods, ensuring they are fully prepared for modern clinical practice.

In addition to rigorous didactic and clinical instruction, the program offers numerous opportunities for residents to engage with leading experts in the field through specialized seminars, visiting faculty lectures, and professional events. These interactions support the development of advanced clinical judgment, research interests, and academic growth.

Residents also benefit from diverse hands‑on experiences, including rotations at Lexington VA Health, where they gain experience with a diverse range of patient cases, and University of Louisville Brown Cancer Center, where they encounter complex cases and have the opportunity to observe and participate in maxillofacial prosthodontics. These rotations broaden their understanding of interdisciplinary care and equip them to manage a wide variety of challenging clinical situations.

By integrating behavioral sciences, biologic sciences, digital innovation, expert mentorship, and varied clinical experiences, the program prepares graduates to become highly competent clinicians, researchers, and educators within the specialty of Prosthodontics.
