The Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota trains pediatric dentists for a future in private practice, academic institutions, public health settings and hospital environments consistent with the guidelines established by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The residency program provides a comprehensive dental home at the intersection of pediatric healthcare and dental academia. The residency clinic is located in a free standing medical building adjacent to MHealth Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital. The residency program strives to improve pediatric health care and advance the specialty through the education of pediatric dentists who are committed to safe, high-quality, evidence-based clinical practice, interdisciplinary team care, research discovery, community service, and advocacy.

Transcript Evaluation and Instructions

Submit unofficial undergraduate and dental school transcripts via ADEA PASS.

Letters of Evaluation Instructions

3 personal evaluation forms (PEFs) and 1 institution evaluation form (IEF) as required by ADEA PASS. 

Other Requirement Instructions

Completion of a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental degree program (DDS/DMD) before matriculation into the residency program are required. 

International Student Eligibility

This program will consider applicants who graduated, or plan to graduate, from a non-CODA accredited dental school: No

Applicants are eligible to enroll if they are:

  • US Citizen
  • US Permanent Resident
  • Non-US Citizen/Resident (applicant must obtain their own sponsorship)
  • Non-US citizen/residents seek either F-1 or TN visa. In order to be eligible for our Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry, applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA approved United States or Canadian dental school. If the applicant has completed dental school in another country, the applicant would need to complete an advanced standing DDS/DMD program in the United States or Canada in order to be eligible for our program.
