The mission of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service is to create a positive atmosphere of excellence in learning, patient care, research, and service in the area of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Goals and Objectives of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC are to enhance oral and maxillofacial surgery through research, service, teaching, and administrative venues.
There are 3 major goals of the advanced training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at UNC:
1. Provide full scope training in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
2. Provide knowledge of basic and clinical sciences in oral and maxillofacial surgery to support a full scope practice.
3. Become board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
