This program is designed to increase the knowledge and clinical capabilities of graduate dentists and to better prepare them for the private practice of dentistry.  Approximately 85% of the program involves direct patient care in a group practice environment.  Residents will treat a variety of patients who differ in the complexity of their dental needs, medical problems, age, and socio-economic status.

Residents will receive didactic and/or clinical training in each of the following areas:  Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Endodontics, Operative Dentistry, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Implants: placement and restoration, Oral Pathology, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Practice Management, and Dental Treatment of the Medically Compromised Patient.

This residency emphasizes treatment planning, treatment sequencing, periodontal/restorative relationships, and complex restorative treatment that include dental implants.  Extensive clinical experience is provided in operative dentistry, fixed prosthodontics, removable prosthodontics, oral surgery, the placement and restoration of dental implants, digital dentistry and an emphasis on esthetic dentistry as it relates to each discipline.  There will also be exposure to providing charitable dentistry in off-site locations to gain a perspective and understanding of the needs of individuals that cannot afford dental care.

Full auxiliary staff are provided to residents. Each resident works with their own dental assistant and the business team manages scheduling of patients and coordinating care. First year residents receive a $30,000/year stipend and second year residents at $40,000/year stipend with benefits. A second year in the program is optional.
