The advanced education program in oral and maxillofacial radiology consists of a 36-month study leading to a Certificate. Students in the Certificate program receive extensive training in radiation physics and radiation biology, radiographic techniques, and interpretation. Qualified students also have the option to pursue the M.S. in Dental Science degree in the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology track in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences which is also 36 months in duration.
Students will be responsible for performing, interpreting and updating conventional and advanced radiographic procedures such as CT, Cone Beam CT and magnetic resonance images acquired in the graduate clinic or assigned in courses. You will write reports of scans from across the country as captured on all brands of CBCT machines.
Successful completion can fulfill the formal education requirements of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
