The program in pediatric dentistry is designed to offer the advanced student a balanced curriculum in both didactic and clinical areas. Particular emphasis is placed on hospital dentstry, conscious sedation, interceptive orthodontics and special patient care. The program is administered by the Department of Developmental Dentistry of the School of Dentistry and is approved and accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and the American Dental Association. Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student is awarded a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and meets the eligibility requirements for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

TOEFL Requirement Instructions
The TOEFL is required for all international applicants who graduated from a non-CODA accredited dental school. A minimum score of 100 is necessary for consideration, and scores must be submitted to PASS before the program deadline.
Other Requirement Instructions
Applicants invited to interview must submit a 2×2 photo electronically. The photo may be uploaded directly to the PASS application or emailed to the program at pedoapplications@uthscsa.edu.

Additional Information
To be considered for admission, all international applicants who have graduated from a non-CODA accredited dental school must meet the following prerequisites:

Successful completion of the TOEFL and INBDE or NBDE Parts I & II before the application deadline.
