Program Contact
The General Practice Dental Residency at the University of Virginia Health System offers both a one-year and two-year program designed to allow the practitioner to enhance knowledge and expand clinical skills developed in dental school.
The program was established in 1974 and is fully accredited by the ADA. Applicants are selected yearly to fill open positions.

Applicants are eligible to enroll if they are:
- US Citizen
- US Permanent Resident
- Canadian Citizen
- Canadian Permanent Resident
- Applicants to our program are required to be a graduate from a predoctoral dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). We do not accept graduates from international dental schools.
