Introduction

The Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR) Residency Program is a two-year training program leading to a certificate in OMFR. Residents will be expected to perform and interpret conventional and advanced radiographic images such as Cone Beam CT. Images of MDCT, and MRI will be assigned for interpretation in courses. The program places strong emphasis on medical radiology rotation at University Hospital and Harborview medical center, where residents will receive training in advance imaging techniques (MDCT and MRI) and interpretation. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric dentistry, bio-engineering and neuroradiology departments. In addition, the program offers strong Radiation Physics training by the Radiation Physics department in medical school as well as research training by the summer institute. Each resident is required to conduct a research project and are encouraged to complete a project for journal publication.
