The Department of Periodontics at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry offers an advanced education comprehensive course of study in clinical and didactic periodontics. The program consists of a minimum 36-month course of study, with a specific research component, leading to a Specialty Certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Dentistry. The course of study satisfies the requirements for eligibility for the American Board of Periodontology. The program also satisfies ADA requirements to provide minimal and moderate conscious sedation.  The program carries full approval status from the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation.

Interview Schedule

The Residency Selection Committee at Virginia Commonwealth University, Department of Periodontics, will review all completed applications and invite selected candidates for an in-person interview. Interviews will take place on a designated day in mid- to late September 2026. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified with additional details regarding the schedule and logistics.
