Comprehensive General Practice Residency with rotations to anesthesia, emergency department, medicine, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry and special care clinic. Prenatal screening is also provided.  All rotations are within Woodhull Hospital.  Community outreach to local health fairs, schools, and other relevant sites.  There is a large, diverse, patient population and the Department manages approximately 45,000 patient visits annually.  The Department also has a Residency Program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry. Lectures and seminars are routinely provided and research project is required.   Medically, emotionally, or physically challenged and pediatric patients may be managed in the operating room.  Residents are also assigned to on-call in the emergency room.  Rotary endodontics, placement and restoration of implants, digital radiography, an electronic record, and state of the art dental operatories all enhance the residency experience. Optional second year with concentration in periodontics, implants, pediatric dentistry, etc. for selected candidates..
