Program Length and Number of Positions
This is a 24-month program beginning mid-June of each year. Six positions are offered on a yearly cycle.
Program Type
The pediatric dentistry program at Yale New Haven Hospital has been planned in accordance with the guidelines for postgraduate education of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is fully accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. Residents receive clinical training in a variety of settings and disciplines, including comprehensive patient management, behavior management, hospital dentistry, general anesthesia, sedation, pediatric medicine, growth and development, orthodontics, oral surgery, and emergency medicine. Didactic instruction includes classes, seminars, and rounds, dedicated to the comprehensive practice of Pediatric Dentistry for both well and medically compromised children.
Application
The program application deadline is October 1st of each year, pending matriculation. The program participates in the Postdoctoral Application Support Service (PASS). The selected candidates are invited for an interview after the review of the completed application. Resident selection takes place through the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program.
